Man can’t live alone. Time and time again this statement has been proven to be true, for no one seems to survive on his own. Everyone needs the company of another. That is why people get into relationships in order to meet the need to belong.
The keys to keep our relationships work lie beyond our capacity to handle different people at different situations. What matter most are the right attitudes that emanate from the heart.
The attitude of humility. People today tend to label humility as a sign of weakness. But this is not so. Humility is actually a virtue that people in the world need today. Realizing that no one is perfect is a call to humble ourselves and admit when we are wrong, take responsibility for our failures instead of blaming someone else, and be tolerant at other’s mistakes.
The willingness to listen. Communication is a two-way process. We are given two ears and one mouth. And from this we can get the implication that we do need to listen more and talk less in order for our relationships to work. Oftentimes, things get complicated because of our failure to listen. When we listen, we get to know more about the person and the reasons behind his actions, we get right through the root of the problem and apply the best solution.
