Whether it’s from 30,000 feet or even on top of a building, for someone who has lost the will to live, a suicide jump may not provide any feeling or emotion at all. But a suicide jump, coming from an airplane, can be one of the most amazing human experiences of all. Free-falling to the earth, total weightlessness, at the constant speed of 9.8 m/s, all of it offered exclusively by the sport skydiving. Also known as parachuting, it is the sport of jumping from sufficient height to be able to deploy a fabric parachute and land safely on the ground. Probably the most dangerous of all extreme sports, skydiving is so fun and exhilarating those who have done it for the first time relate the experience as literally getting out of one’s comfort zone. Because of the danger posed by skydiving, those who wish to try must enroll first in skydiving courses before attempting any jump.
Beginners of skydiving courses are offered several options, but it usually is a choice of tandem jumping or an Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) Jump. Tandem jumping involves jumping with a certified skydiving instructor attached to you with a harness. For familiarity, this instructor who jumps with you is also the one giving the lessons during your skydiving courses while on the ground. The AFF Jump, on the other hand, involves you exiting the plane along with two instructors holding on to you to guide your dive.
