The leader is a very potent force to contend with in any organization. He has the ability to make or break the company depending if he is employing effective management skills or not. A leader must remember that there are skills that he needs to learn and re-learn.
For him to have and effective management in his organization he must possess different skills that will bring positive effect on the people under his leadership. He must know how to solve a problem creatively and in less amount of time and resources. He must also be able to speak with authority and listen to others as well. Subordinates respect a leader who has integrity and moral ascendancy who walks the talk and does what he preaches.
An effective management skill that a leader must also possess is the ability to bring out the best in people. As an effective leader he must be able to share the limelight with the people under him. He just doesn’t order people around, but he makes them think and empowers them to make decisions that are within the boundaries. A true and effective leader thinks about the opportunities to develop and enhance the skills of his people. He just doesn’t delegate but he allows others to shine and make their mark.
